Scar: image 1, take 2

Because I really do listen to what you all have to say. I edited the first image so that her underwear doesn’t blend into the black background.

So, is this better?

There's a link in the previous post to her journal entry about it. She has/had scoliosis.

I don't know if you can photoshop it and put her on a white background, but I think that would probably make a more dramtic photo. The photo is good, but the left edge of her panties stil seem to fade into the background. I like the position and it is cool that she is so comformtable with the scar that she doesn't mind you shotting her. Overall excellent picture.

I can dodge that left side a bit if people still think it's too dark. I made it subtle so that you can just notice it but that it still blends.

Oops, had more to say, sent a bit prematurely. I don’t know that I would like it on a white background. I think she would appear to be floating too much. Not that she’s not doing that here, but I think it would just be amplified.

I originally saw this on one of the photography journals. Just thought I'd tell you that I like the way her underwear and parts of her hair fade into the background. I've always love photos that do that creatively and appropriately. I think it pulls the background up to the subject in such a way that there is no division in the picture. It's all very zen-like. =D

So you prefer the original? I personally didn't see a problem with it but several people thought there was too much of a black void.

Thanks for weighing in on this one.

Yes, I prefer the original. I agree with you that it keeps the focus on her scar, which after all, is the subject of the picture. Who cares about her underwear?

I was about to post saying that I couldn't see the change, and then I tilted my laptop screen a little, and I saw it! And then I noticed that I'm at work shifting close to my screen to gander at someone's ass! Whoops.

It's still very faint, to me. If you hadn't said you had changed it, I wouldn't have noticed. But ya know what? I like this photo so much that I don't really care if her butt is a black hole or not.

Wow, that last bit didn't come out quite the way I thought it would.

Wow, that last bit didn't come out quite the way I thought it would.

But you posted it anyway which means you rock!

Yeah, I made it a very subtle change. Anything more and I started to think it just looked really faked. Like I covered her butt instead of just lightening up the panties.

You could just add in a big white rectangle containing the words "Naughty Bits!" I bet that would settle the whole thing.

I like it better. Now I find that slightly hot spot on her shoulder distracting. I also think I'd do a diffuse glow / airbrushy thing on her.

My opinion ... if I had to choose between this one and the original I'd pick the original. The line between her undies and the black background has too much of a "fake" look to it, and it's a bit distracting to me.

I think the issue I have with the undies fading into the black background isn't so much that they're the same color (or a necessarily create a void) but the fact that they seem to cut the model into pieces. Like in this one, her legs and foot -- while they obviously belong to her -- don't really seem "connected" to her, since the black color of her undies is between them and her torso and the "butt" part blends into the background.

In the other photo of her that you can see her undies, the effect works really well except for a little bit of her thigh that is visable. If that gets burned in all the way (or just Photoshoped out) I think it would make the image that much more pleasing.

This is much better, it's far less distracting.
I originally meant to say that it looked like she was separated at the waist as well, but forgot it in my comment to the original post. This works better for me.
